Goers Take Close Win Over Hackers
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Silicon Valley Hackers home opener. Qing-nian Wa started for the home team against Yo Watanabe for the Temple Goers. The Hackers were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 5-3, Temple. Qing-nian Wa was named player of the game.
Chris Werner had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for the Goers. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Temple trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run double.
Werner told a Temple News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
