Tornadoes Lose to Armada, 2-1
|
Lucky 7 Ballpark was the site of a tense game between the Kansas City Tornadoes and Quebec Armada.
Quebec Armada starter Jeff Kimball turned in a sterling performance against the Kansas City Tornadoes, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Earning his 1st save of the year was Steve Garrett.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Armada had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when right fielder Toyokazu Murayama hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Mehmood Dar and made the score 2-0, Armada. Murayama was 1 for 4.
Murayama said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The Armada, now 3-0, have hit the ground running this season.
