Maple Makes It 7 Straight with 10-7 Win
|
Benefiting from the performance of Ricardo Corte, the Maple Marauders defeated the Bloomington Blazers, 10-7. Corte was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the Marauders. Adrien Clément recorded his 5th save for Maple. The win gives the Marauders a record of 16-12.
Don Orton drew 1 walk for Maple. The 32-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring walk off Luis Cruz. It was his 4th walk of the season.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Orton said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
