Caterpillars Get Win, Extend Streak to 5
|
A 4-RBI performance from Steve Bailey helped the Peoria Caterpillars beat the Chicago Titans, 9-3. Tommy Bartlett, the winner, improved to 6-5. He held the Titans to 3 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3. The 5th-place Caterpillars have won 5 straight.
Bailey contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Peoria in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Bailey took a cutter from Mai Do and stroked the double to left. His 6th double of the season allowed the Caterpillars to leap in front, 3-1.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Bailey.
