Loss Extends Bronx Losing Streak
|
The Billings Mustangs reigned over the Bronx Bombers in damp conditions at Cobb Field.
The Billings Mustangs had to overcome a big game from Bronx third baseman Mitsuzuka Kobayashi to leave Cobb Field with a 8-4 victory. Kobayashi belted 2 home runs. The Bronx losing skid has reached 7 games.
In the bottom of the 2nd, Billings took the lead on a bases-clearing double by Xing-peng Ran. At the time, the Mustangs were trailing 2-1, but Ran's hit with two outs against Bronx pitcher Al Bates put them in front, 4-2.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Bronx skipper Ronnie Hampton.
