Freedom Squelch Peoria Offense in Shutout Win
Philadelphia right-hander António Navarro was sensational in shutting out the Peoria Caterpillars, 6-0. The 4th-place Freedom now have a win-loss record of 53-56.

The Freedom got a big at-bat from left fielder Danny Griggs. For the game, Griggs was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Philadelphia a 2-0 lead.

"We'll savor this win," Griggs told the Philadelphia Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
