Canadians Knock Off Titans, 5-3
|
The Vancouver Canadians downed the Chicago Titans, 5-3, at Stanley Park. Tetsunori Tamura led the way, going 3-for-4 for Vancouver. The Canadians, now 62-49, have won 4 in a row.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Horiuchi Rin was at the plate when Vancouver scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Canadians to go in front, 4-3.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Vancouver manager John Harrison. "It's usually not just one thing."
