Fans who gathered at The Ice Box saw a good contest between the Minneapolis Freeze and Bronx Bombers.
Minneapolis Freeze starter Gerardo Estrada was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Bronx Bombers, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Estrada, now 6-5. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5.
Shimpei Fujita came through for Minneapolis when he hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. With the bases empty, he hit a 2-0 changeup to left-center field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.
"I liked his command," said Minneapolis manager Fernando Vargas. "Gerardo was throwing strikes."
Minneapolis, now 45-61, holds 6th place in the Blake Camden League Youppi Division.
