Black Knights Come Up Short at Chicago
|
Chicago Hitmen starter Yeijiro Ishihara turned in a sterling performance against the Brooklyn Black Knights, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was Ishihara, now 2-2. He tossed 5 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Ch'ang-chieh Tann was credited with the save for Chicago, his 9th of the season.
The Hitmen got a big at-bat from right fielder Pat Pittman. For the game, Pittman went 1 for 2 with 2 walks. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 33rd hit of the season gave Chicago a 3-2 lead.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Chicago manager Steve Hansen.
The win lifts Chicago to a record of 15-13.
