Detroit and Omaha met at Anchorage Municipal Stadium in front of a lively crowd.

Detroit second baseman Bhavsar Jayasurya was instrumental in his team's 9-2 win over the Omaha Raptors. Jayasurya went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Death Stars. Jason Atkinson got the win, improving to 5-2. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3.

Jayasurya had a key at-bat for Detroit early in the game. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Detroit an early 1-0 lead.

"We've got a great group of guys," Jayasurya said, "and we're having fun right now."

The first-place Death Stars lifted their record to 65-39.
