Titans Squelch Minneapolis Offense in Shutout Win
|
Right-hander Alistair Lymer mesmerized the Minneapolis Freeze while leading the Chicago Titans to a 4-0 victory. The winning pitcher was Lymer, now 6-10. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8. The losses continue to pile up for Minneapolis, which has now fallen 12 times in a row.
Jason Corcoran brought the hometown crowd to its feet with no one out in the bottom of the third. That's when the 22-year old third baseman belted a 2-run home run. With the round-tripper, the Titans took the lead, 2-0.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Minneapolis manager Fernando Vargas.
