|
The Vancouver Canadians bested the Astoria Argonauts by a score of 5-2, with third baseman Alex Lontok getting the main credit. On the day, Lontok was 1-2 with 2 walks for the Canadians. Steve Strickland picked up the save for Vancouver, his 7th of the year. The third-place Canadians are now 54-45, the Argonauts 51-48.
The game turned with one out in the top of the fourth when Lontok, who is tied for 10th in the BCL in total bases with 165, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Canadians into the lead, 2-1.
Lontok called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
