Multi-HR Day for Chikuda as Argonauts Overpower Canadians, 9-7
The Astoria Argonauts topped the Vancouver Canadians, 9-7, with first baseman Tetsuo Chikuda playing a big role. Chikuda hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Argonauts in the win. Ricardo Castros was the winner. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Harsha Majoo earned the save, his 15th, for the Argonauts.

Chikuda had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth, when he hit a grand slam. The Argonauts went on to win.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Chikuda.

The Argonauts now have a record of 50-47.
