Texans Clip Hops in Tight Contest
The San Diego Hops got a superb performance from pitcher Walt Lawson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Dallas. The Texans won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Lawson was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. Pedro López picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 2-3. The Hops fall to 9-18 and continue their uneasy start to the 2028 season.

Juan Jaramillo made it 4-3 in favor of Dallas when he delivered a 2-run single. It came with one out in the top of the ninth. The Texans went on to win.

"It feels good to get this one," Jaramillo told the Dallas Daily News.
