Argonauts Knock Off Omaha at Anchorage Municipal Stadium
|
Despite a great performance by Omaha catcher Masaharu Higashi, the Astoria Argonauts defeated the Raptors by the score of 9-7 at Anchorage Municipal Stadium. Higashi went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Astoria, at 49-46, occupies second place in the Blake Camden League B.J. Birdie League.
Keith Lyon struck a blow for the Argonauts in the top of the fifth when he hit a 2-run home run. It put his team ahead, 4-2. For the game, Lyon was 2-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We came out aggressive," said Astoria Argonauts manager Toin Furukawa. "We came out swinging the bats."
