Caterpillars Topple Coal Miners with Late Rally

Kunimichi Fujii did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Antioch Coal Miners from losing, 5-4, to the Peoria Caterpillars at The Coal Mine. Fujii belted 2 home runs. Pedro Gravina picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Gusti Kusuma was tagged with the loss. The save went to Zhong Shi, his 8th this season.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the eighth inning. Facing Antioch hurler Gusti Kusuma, James Cobbold hit a run-scoring single. The Caterpillars went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Cobbold told the Peoria Gazette.
Peoria is now 40-54, Antioch 46-48.
