Argonauts Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Freeze
|
The Astoria Argonauts downed the Minneapolis Freeze, 8-7, at Golden Fleece Park. Wes Alexander led the way, going 4-for-4 for Astoria. Astoria reliever Harsha Majoo picked up the win to move to 3-2. Ronaldo Pérez suffered the loss. The Freeze, now 40-48, have lost 7 straight.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Astoria shortstop Tony Delsol, facing Ronaldo Pérez, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Argonauts the 8-7 win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Alexander told the Astoria Bulletin.
