Bombers Drop Another One

Fans at Bronx Ballpark were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Bronx Bombers take on the Vancouver Canadians.
The Vancouver Canadians bested the Bronx Bombers by a score of 6-4, with catcher Phillip Lewis getting the main credit. On the day, Lewis went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Canadians. The Bombers, now 35-50, have lost 5 straight.
The Canadians took the lead in the top of the third when Rafael Cruz banged a two-out home run. Vancouver had been trailing 2-1, but Cruz hit a first pitch fastball from Trey Robinson for a 2-run home run.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Bronx manager Ronnie Hampton.
