The Philadelphia Freedom defeated the Detroit Death Stars, 3-1, in Blake Camden League action at The Death Star, with Philadelphia pitcher Tien-kai Zhai named player of the game. The save was credited to Bob Archer, his 4th. The Freedom go to 42-44, putting them third in the Blake Camden League B.J. Birdie League.
Danny Griggs in the top of the first had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Freedom leading 1-0, the Philadelphia left fielder grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Philadelphia manager Dan Jones said.
