Death Stars Beat Freedom, 5-3

The first-place Detroit Death Stars took on the Philadelphia Freedom at The Death Star.
The Detroit Death Stars picked up a win at The Death Star, knocking off the Philadelphia Freedom, 5-3. Starting pitcher Takeji Ogawa was an essential part of his team's success. Cheng-en Huang locked down his 14th save.
Going deep for Detroit was Bhavsar Jayasurya. The second baseman had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth for the Death Stars. It put his team ahead, 5-3, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Jayasurya was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Ogawa told the Detroit News. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
Detroit is now 56-30, 6½ games up in the Blake Camden League Youppi Division.
