Mustangs Roll Coal Miners, 7-2
|
The Billings Mustangs got a stellar performance from pitcher Rubén Cabrera, who handcuffed the Antioch offense en route to a 7-2 win at Cobb Field. Cabrera went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 8-2. Billings goes to 52-30. The win puts them 11 games up in their division.
Takaaki Hirayama was a key contributor to the win for the Mustangs. In the bottom of the second with one out, the light-hitting center fielder stroked a double to right. He went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Hirayama told the Billings Citizen.
