Rea Bashes 5 Base Hits
The Antioch Coal Miners stopped the Billings Mustangs by a score of 24-8 at Cobb Field today, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder José Rea. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Rea said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Rea did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Mustangs.

"Not much that I can say," offered Billings manager Keith Irwin. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

José Rea singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.

This season Rea is batting .301 with 87 hits and 21 home runs. He has scored 62 times and has 61 runs batted in.
