Dallas starter Paul Johnston put a stranglehold on the New York offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Texans to a 5-1 win. The win leaves Dallas with a record of 13-14.

Juan Jaramillo aided the Dallas cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4 with a double.

"It's a mindset," said Johnston. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
