Columbus Topples Chicago, 7-6

The Columbus Codebreakers did just enough to sneak past the Chicago Hitmen, 7-6, at SouthSide Park. Columbus pitcher Kinnosuke Sato earned player of the game honors. The loss lowers the Chicago record to 14-13.
In the top of the sixth, Columbus second baseman Ray Clark had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Chicago hurler Gus Layar, Clark grounded out, driving in 1 run. That made the score 7-0, Columbus. For the day, Clark drove in one run.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Clark said.
