Win Streak Now at 6 for Raiders
|
Philadelphia got a terrific game from first baseman Eugene Heady. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Reno, 6-4. Heady was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. Eduardo Marino, the winner, improved to 5-6. He held Philadelphia to 2 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Getting the save was Mei-shan Huang, his 11th.
In the top of the eighth inning, second baseman Luis Ávila came through big-time for the Raiders. With Reno leading 3-2, he belted a 3-run home run.
"This team is headed in the right direction," said Ávila.
Reno has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
