Prince Percival Papenfuss never let the Tornadoes get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Bombers to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Papenfuss, now 2-2. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. With the win, South Carolina improves its record to 14-12.

South Carolina took the lead with two out in the bottom of the third when Zhao-ying Gai stroked a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-1 in favor of South Carolina. For the day, Gai was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Papenfuss.
