Canadians Trip Titans in Extras

In a tight battle between the Vancouver Canadians and the Chicago Titans, pitcher Michael Smith was in the zone. The Vancouver right-hander was named the player of the game in Vancouver's 2-1 win. The Canadians now have a record of 41-30 with the win over Chicago.
Phillip Lewis's at-bat with two out in the top of the tenth was critical. The Vancouver catcher hit a run-scoring double, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Vancouver field general John Harrison.
