The Pasadena Bumblebees powered past the Omaha Raptors, 9-5, at The Hole. Seitaro Kiyomizu went 1 for 2 with 3 walks, while scoring 2 times, to lead the charge. Barend Bilderbeek got the win, improving to 5-6. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The Bumblebees sit in third place in the Blake Camden League Youppi Division with a record of 40-32.
Tied up with the Raptors in the bottom of the fifth, the Bumblebees got a boost from first baseman Edmund McDonald. With runners on 1st and 2nd, McDonald saw a first pitch fastball from Manny Calderón and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Pasadena on top, 5-4.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said McDonald. "I just want to win ballgames."
