Great Effort by Fujita Not Enough in 8-7 Loss
Minneapolis first baseman Shimpei Fujita had a terrific game. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Billings beat the Freeze, 8-7. Fujita was named the player of the game despite the loss. Davis Marés finished the game for Billings and earned his 19th save. Billings improves to 45-26 with the win. They lead their division by 9˝ games.

Germán Tovar said the idea of hitting a home run crossed his mind when he came to bat in the top of the ninth. Tovar belted a solo home run to stake Billings to a 8-7 lead. His 10th home run of the season came off Minneapolis pitcher Rick MacLellan.

Tovar told a Billings Citizen reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
