Big Day for Heady as Freedom Down Coal Miners, 7-5
|
The Philadelphia Freedom knocked off the Antioch Coal Miners, 7-5, at The Bell. Eugene Heady, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Philadelphia won. The first baseman was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Argo Kartosuwiryo converted his 1st save in 1 tries. The Freedom now have a mark of 29-37.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fifth when Heady hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Freedom into the lead, 5-2.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Heady. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
