Canadians Pick Up 9-4 Win
|
The Joplin Fireballs and Vancouver Canadians brought some excitement to The Firepit.
The Vancouver Canadians picked up a win at The Firepit, knocking off the Joplin Fireballs, 9-4. Starting pitcher Ernesto Villegas played a key role in the triumph. Vancouver is now 37-26.
Flexing his muscles for Vancouver was Roberto Flores. The shortstop had a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth for the Canadians. It put his team ahead, 3-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Flores went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Flores said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
