Blazers Nip Earthquakes, 6-5

The Bloomington Blazers scored a 6-5 win versus the San Francisco Earthquakes at Golden Gate Park. Bloomington pitcher Tony Baltiérrez nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Austin Price earned the save for Bloomington, his 1st. The Blazers, now 1-2, have not found much traction so far in 2028.
This game was not decided until Wiley Smith came to bat in the top of the ninth. With the bases loaded and one out, the Bloomington first baseman hit a run-scoring single. The Blazers took the lead, 6-5.
"It's a long season," said Baltiérrez. "We'll keep working to improve."
