Peoria designated hitter Lee Collier had a terrific game. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Antioch beat the Caterpillars, 11-5. Collier was named the player of the game despite the loss. Antioch goes to 25-32, Peoria to 25-32.

Víctor Sandoval, the Antioch right fielder, contributed a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to make the score 9-5, Coal Miners. For the game, Sandoval was 2-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Sandoval told the Antioch Times. "It's as simple as that."
