Patriots Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Manhattan Beach Patriots picked up a win at Stars & Stripes Stadium, knocking off the Seattle Sasquatch, 6-3. On the mound for Manhattan Beach was left-hander Tomás Bravo, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 8 innings, Bravo surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Joachim Doucet was called on to finish, recording his 8th save.
Manhattan Beach took control in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and a runner on 1st, Mal Rivers hit a run-scoring triple to make it 4-3, Patriots.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Rivers said. "That's how it goes."
Manhattan Beach, now 19-7, has played well in the early going.
