Both teams had their chances, but the Reno Raiders eventually prevailed at House of Pain.

Reno designated hitter Dave Watson picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Vancouver Canadians, 7-6. Reno reliever Orinosuke Matsuoka picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Michael Smith was collared with the loss.

Watson had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the third for the Raiders. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Reno trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run home run.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Watson said.

With the win over Vancouver, the Raiders improved to 26-30.
