4-1 Bumblebees Win over Freedom Evens Season Record
|
The Pasadena Bumblebees got a stellar performance from pitcher Ilpo Vuorinen, who handcuffed the Philadelphia offense en route to a 4-1 win at The Hole. Vuorinen got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 5 over 6 innings. Vuorinen allowed 1 earned run. Hulusi Mumcu was credited with the save for Pasadena, his 10th of the season.
The Bumblebees beat the Freedom in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Edmund McDonald produced in the bottom of the sixth. Batting against Philadelphia pitcher Dong-soo Bruce, McDonald gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring double.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Pasadena Bumblebees manager Eric Walker.
The 5th-place Bumblebees are now 27-27, the Freedom 22-31.
