Fireballs Walk Off with Win
|
Dave Morton had a good game, but he could not keep the Minneapolis Freeze from falling, 7-6, to the Joplin Fireballs at The Firepit. The Minneapolis second baseman went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 walks. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2 in the loss. Joplin occupies third place in the Blake Camden League Youppi Division at 28-24.
The Fireballs were down to their final out when shortstop Chad Wright turned a 2-2 fastball from Tai Quian into a 2-run double. The walk-off double made the The Firepit crowd go wild.
Wright described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
