Bombers Clip Canadians in Tight Contest
The Bronx Bombers powered past the Vancouver Canadians, 8-5, at Stanley Park. Jorge Guerrero was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. Bronx reliever Srinivasan Shubhashish picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Joe Kenner was saddled with the loss. Getting the save was Juan Manuel, his 12th.

Had Hong-bo Ec not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Ec hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Bombers.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Guerrero. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The Bombers saw their win-loss record go to 21-27. At the same time, the Canadians fell to 29-19.
