The Minneapolis Freeze defeated the Reno Raiders, 7-2, in Blake Camden League action at The Ice Box, with Minneapolis third baseman Dimitri Weniaminoff named player of the game. Noboru Kitamura got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. The 'W' lifts Minneapolis's record to 25-21.

Weniaminoff had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Freeze went on to win.

In postgame comments to the Minneapolis News, Weniaminoff said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
