The bats were silent much of the day at Golden Fleece Park. But Bahuhiranya Sulagna conjured up just enough offense to carry the Argonauts past the Pasadena Bumblebees, 3-2. Sulagna was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Astoria reliever Kakuzo Kobayashi picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Stepan Elmesov was saddled with the loss. The Argonauts now have a record of 24-22 with the win over Pasadena.
A decisive at-bat came in the bottom of the second inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Kazuhiro Morita, drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It made the score 1-0, Astoria, and helped them go on to win.
"It's good to win," Morita told the Astoria Bulletin. "I like to have fun doing it."
