Marauders Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros got a sterling performance from pitcher Luis Sánchez, but the Marauders still prevailed, 6-4. Sánchez was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. Maple reliever Bryce Hesketh picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Lloyd Hunt took the loss. The Marauders have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 3 games.
The most important at-bat for Maple came in the top of the 11th inning, when left fielder Sal Ostendorff stroked a first pitch cutter to right for a run-scoring single, putting Maple up, 5-4.
In postgame remarks, Ostendorff simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
