Canadians Bump Off Raptors, 4-3
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Vancouver Canadians eventually prevailed at Stanley Park.
Vancouver left-hander Fernando López pitched his team to victory over the Omaha Raptors at Stanley Park. The final score was 4-3. López went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 9. His record improves to 4-4. Félix Reina recorded the save for Vancouver, his 10th of the season.
Tied up with the Raptors in the bottom of the sixth, the Canadians got a boost from center fielder Mike Barnes. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Barnes saw a 2-2 curveball from Jesús Castillo and hit a 2-run double to break the stalemate and put Vancouver on top, 3-1.
"Got a lot of swings and misses today," said López.
Vancouver has now won 3 straight, while the Raptors have lost 3 in a row.
