Víctor Martínez never let the Mustangs get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Coal Miners to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Martínez, now 5-3. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 11. Chong-hyeon Kim recorded his 5th save for Antioch.
The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the The Coal Mine crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
"Víctor is still learning," said Antioch Coal Miners manager Julián Flores. "The sky's the limit for him."
Antioch is now 19-24. Billings is 23-19.
