Bombers Fall to Markham, Raptors
|
Alan Markham added some punch to the Omaha offense, helping them outmuscle the Bronx Bombers, 14-7. In the game, Markham, who is rated as the 75th best prospect by BNN, was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Manny Calderón, the winner, improved to 3-5. He held Bronx to 1 runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Omaha is now 19-23, while Bronx is 18-24.
Greg England contributed to the Omaha win. The 25-year old right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, England was 2 for 4 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4.
