A nice crowd turned out to see the Peoria Caterpillars and Pasadena Bumblebees clash at The Hole.
The Peoria Caterpillars stymied the Pasadena Bumblebees, 6-2, at The Hole. Mei Ou-yang, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI for Peoria. Daniel Bonnin, the winner, improved to 2-3. He held the Bumblebees to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 3.
Aziz Sanchez contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he drew a walk. It was one at-bat that propelled Peoria to the win.
"We're feeling pretty good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Ou-yang told the Peoria Gazette.
Peoria occupies 4th place in the Blake Camden League B.J. Birdie League at 19-23.
