Joplin designated hitter Tetsuzan Araki picked up 6 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Philadelphia Freedom, 9-8. Joplin reliever Oliver Cervantes was the winner. His record is now 4-1. Jesús Moreno took the loss. Joplin goes to 21-19, Philadelphia to 19-21.

Araki had an impressive at-bat with the game on the line. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 0-2 slider from Jesús Moreno for a 3-run home run. Just like that, the Fireballs took the lead, 8-6.

"What a game," said Araki. "We needed every last run."
