Chicago Decked by Hanson, Caterpillars
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 24-year old second baseman Tom Hanson, the Peoria Caterpillars stopped the Chicago Titans, 8-2. Paul Hicks earned the win for Peoria. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. Peoria's record now stands at 18-21, placing them 4th in the Blake Camden League B.J. Birdie League.
Jérémy Robin went 2-5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once against the Titans. In the top of the first inning, he hit a 2-run triple, putting Peoria in front, 2-0.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Hanson said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
