Loss to Titans Extends Antioch Losing Streak
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Chicago Titans and the Antioch Coal Miners, Alistair Lymer was the difference-maker. The Chicago right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-1 win. Lymer, now 2-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Jason Hunter got the save, the 7th for him this season.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the second, with the game tied, Keith Morris was at the plate when Chicago scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Titans to go in front, 2-0.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Julián Flores.
The slumping Coal Miners have dropped 6 in a row.
