Freeze, Cuny Blast Raptors
|
The Minneapolis Freeze buried the Omaha Raptors, 12-0, under a barrage of hits. Éric Cuny led the onslaught, going 4-for-5 for Minneapolis. Gerardo Estrada, the winner, improved to 4-1. He held Omaha to 0 runs on 3 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. With the win over Omaha, the Freeze improved to 17-18.
With a runner on 3rd and two out in the bottom of the third inning, shortstop Yao-pang Chen delivered big for the Freeze. Minneapolis was leading 2-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.
"I like easy wins," Chen told the Minneapolis News.
