The Peoria Caterpillars buried the Philadelphia Freedom, 12-2, under a barrage of hits. Amador Bagadion led the onslaught, going 4-for-6 for Peoria. Luca Hatch earned the win for Peoria. He lasted 8 innings, allowing no earned runs on 1 hit, while striking out 13. With the win, he raised his record to 3-2. Peoria is in 5th place in the Blake Camden League B.J. Birdie League with a record of 15-18.
Peoria catcher Mei Ou-yang helped the Caterpillars to the win. In the top of the second inning, the 26-year old catcher stroked a 2-run double. For the game, Ou-yang was 2-4 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Ou-yang told the Peoria Gazette.
